Licensure after Completing a Nutrition Degree
August 19th, 2010 by admin
If you want to become a nutritionist or a dietitian, you need to be licensed or certified before the state allows you to practice in the medical industry. Around 46 states have already established their laws relating to dietetics licensure and approximately 35 of those 46 states require license. 12 of these states only require certification while one needs you to be registered which means a lower level of qualification. The responsible commission on providing these certifications after completing a nutrition degree is the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association or ADA. This commission certifies Registered Dietitian the necessary credentials if they pass the certification exam.
